God

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.

Each person of the Trinity is infinitely holy, utterly loving, all-powerful, all-knowing and worthy of all praise and worship. There is one and only one living and true God, and that he is an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being. The entire Christian faith is bound together with the confession of God’s Trinitarian nature.

We believe in God the Father, the Almighty Creator, Savior and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to his sovereign will for his own glory. 

We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all his words are true. Out of His great love Christ died on the cross in the place of sinners, bearing God’s punishment for their sin, redeeming them by His blood. He rose from the dead and in His resurrection body ascended into heaven where He is exalted as Lord of all. From there, he has sent his Spirit to dwell in his disciples and continue to work through them to build his Church. He now intercedes for His people at the Father’s right hand, and one day will come again for his people to make all things new.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who is fully divine with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven to glorify Christ and to apply His work of salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life and gives a true understanding of the Scriptures. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He indwells all believers, brings assurance of salvation and produces increasing likeness to Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He guides, directs, enlightens, and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Revelation

We believe that God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Bible, and creation.

God has made Himself known to His creation. He has revealed Himself to us in His Son, the incarnate Word, in Scripture, the inspired Word, and in creation.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the perfect revelation of who God is.

We believe that our final authority is the Bible, the supreme standard by which all human creeds and confessions will be assessed. The Bible is one book comprised of 66 books, the Old and New Testaments alone. We believe that every word was inspired by God through human authors, so that the Bible as originally given is in its entirety the Word of God without error and fully reliable. The Bible is the Word of God, both subjectively and objectively. We believe that the Jesus of history is the Christ of faith, and that the historical Jesus is the same Jesus of the Bible. The Bible is clearly understandable in its main teaching, and is to be not simply the nominal rule of the Church, but the actual message of our lips and the practice of our lives.

Humanity

We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

God created men and women in His image. Therefore all people have inherent and equal dignity and worth. In God’s wise purposes, men and women are not interchangeable, rather they complement each other in mutually enriching ways. We were created in holiness under the law of our Maker, with a responsibility to creation and a desire and duty to relate to God in loving obedience for God’s glory and our good. 

Sin

We believe that sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.

As a result of the Fall, sin has corrupted and distorted, though not erased, our ability to bear God’s image. Now, every aspect of human nature has been corrupted and all men and women are without spiritual life, guilty sinners and hostile to God. Everyone is therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense or excuse and needs to be born again, forgiven and reconciled to God in order to know and please Him.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone, to the glory of God alone.

In the gospel of Jesus Christ, God calls all people to be saved by responding to Christ and his work on the cross, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In saving sinners, God is completely sovereign, and his salvation is worked out in a way that is completely consistent with the authentic desires of each individual person.

We believe that regeneration, or the new birth, is the necessary work of God's grace whereby a sinner becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart effected by the Holy Spirit, through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as one’s treasured Lord and Savior. Those who respond to the gospel’s call by the power of the Spirit are baptized into union with Christ. In Him, believers enjoy all the benefits secured through Christ’s salvific work, including justification, sanctification, glorification, and more. 

We believe that justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Being declared righteous in Christ, the believer enjoys peace and favor with God as his beloved, forgiven children.

We believe that sanctification entails the reality that in Christ, believers are made positionally holy in Christ, yet need to grow in practical holiness by the enablement of the Holy Spirit. This growth in holiness is a progressive work begun in regeneration and is carried on in the hearts of believers through our cooperation by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in our continual use of the appointed means - especially the Word of God, self-examination, watchfulness, mutual encouragement, corporate worship, praise, and prayer. 

We believe that glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed. We believe that all and only those who are real believers endure faithfully unto the end; this persevering relationship to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes their profession from superficial professions of faith. God in His providence watches over their welfare and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. When Christ returns in glory, God’s people and all of Creation will experience the fullness of redemption. Then, all believers will experience the resurrection and transformation of their bodies as they behold Christ face to face. Believers will inherit God’s Kingdom in the New Creation, where they will dwell withGod and reign with the King forever. 

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God.

We believe that the universal church is the body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in local churches, which are congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God, the preaching of the Word, the administering of the ordinances, for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism. The unity of the body of Christ is expressed within and between gospel churches by mutual love, care and encouragement.

We believe there are two ordinances of the Church; Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that Believer’s Baptism is the immersion of a Christian into water upon their profession of faith, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit; to show forth, in a solemn and beautiful sign, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. Baptism is a symbol of union with Christ and entry to his Church but does not impart spiritual life. 

We believe the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice offered once for all who believe, whereby as often as we eat the bread and drink the cup a genuine believer does so in remembrance of Christ’s body given for us and Christ’s blood poured out for the forgiveness of our sins. The Lord’s Supper proclaims Jesus’ death until he comes and renews a believer’s thankfulness and engagement to God as well as their mutual love and fellowship with each other; all of its blessings are received by faith. The Lord’s Supper should only be taken by a genuine believer in a worthy manner, as a reflection and in remembrance of the believer’s own communion with God.

The future

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return bodily in glory. He will raise the dead and judge the world in righteousness. The wicked will be resurrected and sent to eternal punishment and the righteous will be resurrected and welcomed into a life of eternal joy in fellowship with God in the new creation. On that Day, God will make all things new and will be glorified forever.
