LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

We believe that under the headship of Christ and authority of his Word (Eph 5:23), God’s design is for local churches to be autonomously governed by the local membership (Mt 18:18), to be led by a plurality of biblically qualified men called by the congregation to be elder/pastor/overseers (1 Pt 5:1-2; Acts 20:17,28; cf. 1 Tim 4:14; Titus 1:5) and to be served by biblically-qualified men and women called by the congregation to be deacons (1 Tim 3:8-13; cf. Rom 16:1).

While we do not currently have a plurality of elders as a brand new church , raising up a plurality of elders is one of our primary goals as a church. In the mean time, we do have an outside advisory board composed of elders of other churches for accountability, aid in major decisions, and support.

While we will not have a diaconate upon planting, raising up deacons will be one of our primary goals as a church. However, staff and serve team leads who serve our church in vital ways. Though these roles are not synonymous with the office of deacon, it does give our church an opportunity to be served and serve, and recognize those who do so in an exemplary manner.
